Meet Mr. Wisp

You might be wondering about the funny little guy next to the word “Stillside” at the top of the page.

That’s our logo and mascot, Mr. Wisp. His friendly face is meant to evoke a few different ideas. The first thing you might see is the pause icon formed by his eyes. He’s reminding you to take a time out, sit down, and find your calm still center. That is, your Stillside. Or maybe the first thing you see is the Yin Yang formed by his face. That’s there to remind us of the historical roots of meditation that reach back across time and around the globe. Maybe he vaguely reminds you of a video game icon, like a super-powered mushroom or a star that makes you invincible.

Whatever Mr. Wisp looks like to you, we hope it’s something that brings a smile to your face, and lets you allow yourself five seconds to breathe and be still.

As a company focused on meditation, we tend toward simplicity, minimalism and contemporary aesthetics in our product design. We love designs that strip away every unnecessary element until only the core function remains. What follows is a minimal form which both reflects and supports that core function. In the case of something like the Om Chair, the core function of the chair is the curved seating area, and the angled back rest. Only a bare minimum of components exist in addition to those parts. In the case of Mr. Wisp, he’s just a few clean lines that identify who we are, and what we do in the simplest way possible.

We feel like Mr. Wisp is the perfect mascot for our company, and right in line with our design ethos. Hopefully you like him as much as we do. If so, you can grab him as a Meditation Stone to use for sensory-based meditations, or just to keep in your pocket as a reminder to take a few minutes each day to breathe and relax.
